515bs original or recone

Just acquired a pair of 515bs with no past history on them at all. how can you tell if they are origanal or if they have been reconed.

Out of curiosity, if it matters to you, why would you shell out the bucks? Kinda like kicking the tires on your car after you got it home. Since you have them, if they work, and are visually correct, run with them.

All of my original cone 515B's have a black spider, and a cone number that starts with 21184, the doping on the surround usually has an amber color to it. Remember, the 21184 Altec cones were also used for reconing until around 1980, Dave.
